Scope of Practice

Nutritional therapy applies nutrition and lifestyle medicine to support health and wellbeing. As a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (RNTP), Laura Di Giorgio-Yates assesses potential nutritional imbalances and provides personalised recommendations.

  • Nutritional therapy is recognised in the UK as a complementary medicine.

  • It does not replace medical care.

  • Laura Di Giorgio-Yates is not a medical doctor and does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions.

  • Clients with “red flag” symptoms will always be referred to a GP or other appropriate medical professional.

  • With client consent, Laura may liaise with healthcare professionals to support coordinated care.

Client Responsibilities
  • Provide full and accurate health information, including diagnoses, medications, supplements, and allergies.

  • Inform your GP/healthcare providers about any nutritional therapy recommendations where relevant.

  • Use recommendations responsibly; they are personal to you and may not be suitable for others.

Minors

We do not provide nutritional therapy to clients under 16 without a parent or guardian present, or written parental consent.

Payments & Cancellations
  • Fees are agreed in advance.

  • Online consultations must be paid in full before the session; face-to-face appointments are paid at the end unless otherwise agreed.

  • Packages may be paid in instalments.

  • Accepted payments: bank transfer, debit/credit card, or via the client portal (where available).

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or unattended (“no-shows”), are charged in full.

  • For online sessions, the client is responsible for a working internet connection.

Supplements & Testing

Food supplements and/or functional tests may be recommended. These are optional and may incur additional costs. Where commissions or preferred suppliers apply, this will be disclosed clearly.

Confidentiality & Data Protection
  • All client information is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Records are kept securely (paper and encrypted digital storage) and retained for 7 years after the last consultation, unless otherwise required.

  • Information will not be shared without consent, unless required by law or to prevent serious harm.

  • You have legal rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.

Professional Standards & Insurance
  • We adhere to the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance.

  • Insurance:

    • £6,000,000 Professional Liability and Public Liability cover (any one claim, unlimited number of claims).

    • Product Liability cover in the aggregate.

    • Defence costs included and unlimited.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful (e.g. for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, liability is limited to foreseeable loss and capped at the greater of:

  • the total fees paid in the preceding 12 months, or

  • £1,000, except to the extent that professional insurance provides higher cover.
